The main UX issues concerning this web connector was the connection process. The original connection processes included a 2 step connection, increasing loading times and “time to completion” of the task, resulting in a 79% drop-off rate. Moreover, having 2 CTAs with a similar hierarchy might have been a cause of confusing for users, hence, the decision taken was to separated them into tabs.
The user interface of the original connector was outdated and needed a refresh to be coherent with the product’s branding. Moreover, the form, previously tedious, has been separated into 3 steps to reduce cognitive load and increase “time to completion”. All data categories are now exposed, allowing the user to recognize the data source they wish to connect, instead of having to remember. The timeframe input field has also been changed to a date picker instead of a drop-down menu for better ease of use.
